The Conservatoire I is a ‘step up’ from Stentor’s own, rather basic Graduate model.
The use (in manufacturing) of better quality tone woods improves its build quality and helps to enhance its tone.
Suitable for students playing violin grades 1 through to 4.
Lacquer polish looks somewhat ‘plastic’, however considering its price it is acceptable.

There is not a ‘short cut’ to the making of a good quality violin. Good workmanship and good quality tone woods are essential.
The Conservatoire II adheres to these criteria…. It is a useful instrument in judging other student violins. Inferior, on-par, or superior.
Tone is bright, but if that is your ‘ilk’, then it’s one to consider !

The best ‘tone woods’ for instruments are the ones that are grown in cold regions of the world, because the cold weather restricts the growth (creating density) of the tree’s annual rings’
The RS V220 ES utilizes these selected woods, resulting in an violin that has a full, sweet -sounding tone.

The Verona is relatively new model for Stentor. Because of the reasonable popularity of the Conservatoire & Arcadia models we decided not to stock this instrument.
In 2022 a London family brought 2 Verona’s into our store for repair… Upon viewing the violins, we were relieved that we had not decided to stock this model.
We showed the family alternative, lower priced instruments, which they played & then purchased…They plan to dispose of the Verona’s !
In consequence this violin is not sold by Reid’s
